FEATURES
10K tons of pressure
To make these the strongest wheels they possibly can, Apex applied as much pressure as possible using a 10,000 ton forge. This extreme pressure increases the strength of the aluminum by eliminating porosity and improving the grain structure.
Proprietary Blanks
Many companies use 3rd-party blanks intended for non-motorsport wheels which can severely limit sizes, concavity, spoke design, and critical brake clearance. Apex has invested in our own proprietary blank profiles to give us full control over the final product.
I Beam Spokes
One of the most significant upgrades to the EC-7R is the addition of "I" beam spokes. Any excess material that doesn’t add strength is carved out from the sides of the spokes using a precision CNC ball cutter. This process is often deemed cost-prohibitive by others, but for true performance without compromise Apex believes it's essential.
Actually Stronger
Want to know how strong a wheel is? Look at the load rating. Many wheel manufacturers simply rely on the word forged to imply strength when their actual load ratings are just as low as cast wheels. Theirs were designed from the start to have measurably higher load ratings so they don’t just sound stronger, they are stronger.
Big Brake Clearance
The ARC-8R addresses the biggest challenge we faced with the original flow-formed ARC-8: brake clearance. Thanks to new high-clearance forging blanks, 380mm brakes now fit behind the 18” version with plenty of breathing room.
Bigger, Tougher Inner Lip
The inner lip is the most vulnerable part of a wheel, because it has no spokes for support. By using forged 6061-T6 aluminum, and reinforcing this high-impact area with more material, Apex provides an extra layer of protection against track berms, potholes, and whatever else the road may throw at you.
Weight Optimized
Apex conducted extensive Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to reinforce high stress areas and to remove material where it didn’t improve strength. The end result is a wheel with an ideal balance of strength and weight.
Paintless Knurled Beads
Whether it’s a day at the track or months of street driving, repeated hard braking can make a tire slip along the bead seat and go out of balance, causing vibration. Knurled beads help, but are less effective when painted over. Apex's forged wheels feature unpainted knurled beads that stay sharp and maximize grip.
Built for Impact Sockets
Track wheels need track tools. Don’t settle for wheels that require undersized tuner lugs or thin walled sockets. All APEX wheels accommodate over-sized race lugs and impact sockets to make swapping wheels lightning fast.
Premium Finishes
Apex's Forged wheel line enabled us to release the finishes they've always hoped for. Fully polished aluminum, hand brushed with tinted clear, and a much wider range of painted finishes. Apex's forged wheels not only deliver performance, but also distinctive new styles as well.
JWL and Beyond
APEX Forged Classic wheels exceed JWL load rating requirements by almost 20%. Some manufacturers don't meet the minimum requirements, yet still claim to be compliant. Always compare load ratings to ensure you aren’t sacrificing critical strength for a slightly lighter wheel.
True VIA
The VIA is an independent wheel testing and auditing agency similar to TÜV. Many companies falsely claim their wheels have been certified, and even use the VIA stamp without permission. Apex's Forged Classic wheels have been certified, and they provide the registration numbers for every wheel.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
Hub Centric
All ARC-8R wheels are purpose built for select vehicle applications. Very few applications require centering rings.
Center Caps
All APEX wheels come with the gloss black cap included that is interchangeable with the OE cap. They also offer additional colors for select fitments.
Wheel Hardware
APEX wheels can be used with all OEM mounting hardware, proper aftermarket hardware and most wheel spacers. Wheel locks and stud conversion kits also work perfectly.
TPMS
All APEX wheels accept OEM and aftermarket Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensors and standard fit valve stems. If you don’t have sensors, then select from our metal stems available in multiple finishes.
