McLaren 720S Coupe / Spider 4.0TT V8 (2017-) Fi Exhaust (Frequency Intelligent Exhaust) high-performance valvetronic exhaust system is direct replacement bolt on system manufactured out of a high-grade T304 stainless steel that offers an exhilarating soundtrack.
The Fi McLaren 720S Exhaust system is designed with a valvetronic technology to control airflow, sound volume and enhance the overall performance and torque. On average horsepower is expected to increase from 5-10% after installing a full catless system, which includes a valvetronic catback and ultra-high flow downpipe.
When valves are closed exhaust gasses are routed through the muffler resulting in a low-profile comfortable drive. However, when the valves are fully open an intense and sporty soundtrack is produced.
Switching between street and race sound profiles can be done using factory exhaust/sport button or drive mode, or optional Fi EXHAUST remote control and mobile App.
The unique sound and performance for McLaren 720S Coupe / Spider is achieved through individually designed muffler internals that are fabricated to offer an ultimate driving experience.

This exhaust setup is offered in both valved and non-valved versions. Non-Valved version removes exhaust valves from the design to provide an unrestricted exhaust gas flow, reduce weight and produce maximum sound volume. However, the valved version integrates exhaust valves in the design allowing control of the sound volume.
2 valved exhaust versions are offered for the McLaren 720S. The first valved version is compatible with OEM valve motors retaining factory settings to operate the exhaust valve flaps. This version is available for the models, whose OEM/stock exhaust comes with valves. However, the second valved version is offered for those models without OEM valvetronic technology capabilities. This version can be used with the Fi remote control system to control the valves and regulate the soundtrack.

Valve / NON-Valve
Non-Valved version removes exhaust valves from the design to provide an unrestricted exhaust gas flow, reduce weight and produce maximum sound volume.
However, the valved version integrates exhaust valves in the design. The valvetronic technology is not only used to control sound volume from Street to Race sound profiles, but also enhances overall performance of the vehicle. When the valve is closed it helps the induction of car exhaust back pressure and increases torque at low RPM. However, when the valve is open in addition to an increase in horsepower at high RPMs it produces a rich sound tone and raises sound volume.
DOWNPIPE (optional)
Catless Standard Version
The ultra-high flow catless downpipes remove restrictive factory catalytic convertor. They increase exhaust gas flow and performance gains, produce higher sound volume. And is usually recommended option going further with ECU tuning.
Catless Sensor Version
The ultra-high flow catless downpipes remove restrictive factory catalytic convertor. They increase exhaust gas flow and performance gains, produce higher sound volume. The downpipe is also equipped with a dummy oxygen sensor to reduce a chance of the check engine light (CEL) being triggered.
Race 100Cell
This kind of catalyst is generally used in race cars , so it is often called “racing catalyst”. With the larger cells and fast exhaust flow rate, it is smooth, durable and do not have refractory wool burn-out problems. The higher the number of the cells, the smaller and denser the hole is. The higher the back pressure, the more it can enhance torque performance, while the opposite is true for increasing horsepower.Converting your stock catalyst converter (400~800 CPSI) into our metallic catalyst converters will result in significant enhancements in airflow discharge that circumvents the limitations and parameters set by car manufacturers.
Sport 200Cell
With the larger cells and fast exhaust flow rate, it is smooth, durable and do not have refractory wool burn-out problems. The higher the number of the cells, the smaller and denser the hole is. REMOTE CONTROL
Fi EXHAUST Pro Control System (optional)
Fi EXHAUST Pro Control System control system consist of intelligent control box, sporty 2 button style remote control and mobile App.
-The mobile App scans and deletes CEL using manual or Auto scan on the engine startup.
-Monitor real-time valve status with Fi EXHAUST Pro App’s intuitive and friendly interface.
-Assign Auto Mode data values. Afterwards the system will intelligently detect engine RPM/Speed/Turbo Boost and turn on the valves.
-Each remote control button can be assigned with 1 function to open/close the valves or activate Auto Mode delivering more precision in the hands of the driver.
-The design is smooth and offers a nice grip, and the aluminum alloy ring can be customized in 14 different colors or switched to forged carbon with a unique marble like texture.
Compatibility with OEM sport button/mode.
The intelligent valve functionality can be controlled using OEM sport button/mode to switch between valves ON/OFF and regulate desired sound volume. FI EXHAUST remote control is not needed and is an optional upgrade to have more control over exhaust valve behavior.
TIPS:
Carbon Fiber (standard):
Made out of a high-grade carbon fiber that can withstand high temperatures. The inserts come standard in silver. However, the inserts can be customized in other colors like gold and black. Fi EXHAUST logo engraving is available in many color variations like red and black, gold or black to match with the insert color.
Forged Carbon (optional):
Forged carbon material is forged at high temperature and pressure to product a surface with a marble-like texture in different patters making each tip unique. The insert comes standard in silver. However, other insert color is available that can be customized with Fi EXHAUST logo color engraving.
OPTIONAL CERAMIC COATING
Fi EXHAUST eliminates traditional thermal insulation materials that contain toxic substances, and directly coats the exhaust pipe with a nano-ceramic coating to protect from corrosion, reduce heat exposure to heat sensitive components in the engine bay and keeps temperature low. It’s a great way to improve longevity of the exhaust and other components prone to thermal degradation like wiring.
HEAT PROTECTION JACKET
Fi EXHAUST special heat protection sleeve for supercar models consists of three material layers. The first layer is fireproof cloth withstanding temperatures up to 1100°C. The middle layer is made out of white ceramic fiber, which has a low thermal conductivity. And the final layer is beautifully designed waterproof and oil resistant thermo jacket.
