Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Lancia equipped with 1.4 Tjet/Multiair Thermostatic Oil Cooler Engine Take Off Plate HEL Performance.

 

The HEL Performance oil cooler engine take off plate range is designed to allow you to run an external oil cooler where under normal circumstances fitting an oil cooler would be impossible.

This Take Off plate has an Integrated thermostat. The thermostat allows engine oil to by-pass the oil cooler until the oil reaches the desired temperature. This allows for both a faster warmup and also extra protection in cold environments over a non-thermostatic sandwich plate. If your oil temperature dips the thermostat will close again enabling your oil to stay at its optimum temperature.

Approximately 10% of the oil is in constant circulation through the oil cooler at all times, maintaining a consistent flow that serves two crucial purposes: to prevent the formation of air pockets and to act as a protective shield against thermal shock to the system.
