KW Suspensions KW Variant 4 Coilover of the Street Performance line.
These coilovers are perfect for those who use the car almost exclusively on the track but still need a set-up suitable for public roads.
Unlike the standard V5, the Clubsport features a specific internal calibration for use with semi-slick tyres. This setup was developed for the Nordschleife.
The height of the KW V5 is adjustable via rings nuts. The maximum lowering is between -45mm and -85mm compared to the original shock absorbers (depending on the car) and this gives the vehicle on which they are installed a sportier look.
The shock absorbers are of the "Twin tube" type.
The internal hydraulics are adjustable in 2-way rebound (high and low speed) via knob thanks to the SPRLH-A technology (Solid Piston Rebound Low and High speed Adjustable) and in 2-way compression (high and low speed) via knob thanks to SPCLH-A (Solid Piston Compression Low and High speed Adjustable) technology.
High-speed rebound, low-speed rebound, high-speed compression and low-speed compression are adjustable via 13 clicks each (14 curves). These adjustments allow you to set the stiffness of the set-up based on the use of the car, the track or the road you have to travel on. There is also a bypass valve with blowoff function capable of releasing the hydraulics on curbs, deeper potholes or bumps to avoid sudden losses of traction and to further increase comfort.
There are external tanks that contain oil and gas under pressure. The reservoirs allow the shock absorber to have more travel and are able to dissipate heat better in order to always obtain the same performance from the coilovers even in long sessions of use on the track.
There are topmounts on uniball with the possibility of adjusting the camber (depending on the car).
The springs are stiffer than the original ones and feature the helper.
Although it is a set-up suitable for sports and track driving, the refinement of the hydraulics still allows you not to sacrifice too much comfort on the road.
The shock absorber body is made of stainless steel to avoid corrosion.
The spring plate is made of polyamide with a stainless steel core. The spring plate acts on a thread external to the shock absorber body.
